Academics

At Rast International School, our Kindergarten program, based on the Pearson International Curriculum, provides a strong foundation for children aged 4 to 5 in a nurturing and engaging environment. We focus on fostering creativity, curiosity, and essential academic skills through age-appropriate learning and play.

  • KG1 (Age 4) introduces core subjects like English, Mathematics, The World Around Us, and Literacy, alongside Music, Art, Physical Education, and Game-Based Learning to support cognitive and social growth.
  • KG2 (Age 5) begins the Pearson Primary Program with the Year 1 Primary Curriculum, giving students an early start in primary education. The focus includes English, Mathematics, Science, Global Citizenship, and Literacy, while continuing to nurture creativity through Music, Art, and Physical Education.

Our program blends academics, creativity, and social development, ensuring children are confident and well-prepared for primary school.

At Rast International School, our Primary Program starts at age 6 with the Year 2 Pearson Primary Curriculum, building strong academic foundations while fostering critical thinking, creativity, and global awareness in a supportive environment.

By Grade 5 (Year 6, ages 10–11), students take the iPrimary Achievement Test, an internationally recognized assessment that ensures they meet global academic standards. This prepares them for iLowerSecondary and equips them for future academic success.

At Rast International School, the iLower Secondary program, based on the Pearson Edexcel curriculum, is designed for students aged 11 to 14 (Years 7–9). It focuses on core subjects—English, Mathematics, and Science—laying a strong foundation for upper levels like the IGCSE.

In Year 9 (Grade 8), students take the Achievement Test, an external assessment that benchmarks their progress and readiness for future academic challenges. The program fosters critical thinking, problem-solving, and independent learning, preparing students for success in their academic journey.

In Grades 9 and 10 (Years 10 and 11), students at Rast International School prepare for the internationally recognized IGCSE examinations through the Pearson Edexcel curriculum. This critical phase focuses on developing critical thinking, problem-solving, and subject mastery, ensuring readiness for higher-level studies.

Students choose a mix of core and optional subjects, tailoring their education to their interests and future goals. Through coursework, practical assessments, and exams, they build a strong academic foundation. IGCSE qualifications are globally respected, opening doors to further education and future career opportunities.

After completing their IGCSEs, students advance to Grades 11 and 12 (Years 12 and 13) to undertake the Pearson Edexcel International Advanced Level (IAL) program. This rigorous two-year course deepens subject knowledge and builds essential skills for university and future careers.

Students typically choose 3–4 A-Level subjects aligned with their academic strengths and future goals. The flexible IAL curriculum allows students to take IAS (International Advanced Subsidiary) exams at the end of Grade 11 (Year 12) and complete their full A-Level qualifications with IAL exams at the end of Grade 12 (Year 13).

The program emphasizes independent research, analytical thinking, and strong communication skills—qualities valued by top universities. With continuous support from our dedicated faculty, students are guided through subject choices, exam preparation, and university applications.

Graduates are fully prepared for global higher education opportunities, including entry into prestigious universities, or direct pathways into professional careers.
